Sickness

Currently doing: Absolutely nothing
Currently listening to: In Your Presence - Jason Upton

Well, I'm sick at this moment--with what, I'm not exactly sure. But here's a different perspective on sickness.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Matthew 9:12 Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick."
Now, he wasn't really talking about those who were sick physically, but those who are spiritually sick. It's THOSE that need Jesus, not us who are saved. Yes, we do need Him to get into a closer relationship with him, and we do need up-lifting at times, but that's not the point. Jesus wasn't talking about that. He was talking about the fact that it's the sinners that need God most in their lives.
So if that's true, then why do we keep God to ourselves? Why don't we share Him with others so they may feel God's love too?
I think part of the reason is because we are all afraid to go out of our comfort zone. We don't want to get our hands dirty or do anything that may change the way other people look at us--unless it's in a good way. But God didn't say, "You can tell others about me if you feel comfortable with it. If you don't, well, that's okay." We shouldn't care about how out of our zone we are. Not when we're doing something God called us to do.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you need to just go out and tell everyone around you about God's mercy and love. If you truly have a problem with witnessing, then pray that God will change that. Not every one of us is called to missionaries, but we are called to tell others about Him. Another point I feel the need to make is that, no, you don't have to just approach random people and try telling them about God. That's not what He's asking of us. What He is asking is that we take every opportunity given to us.
"Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one." - Isaiah 44:8
So, don't be afraid if God speaks to you and tells you to spread His gospel, for his will give you the words and He will be with you always. And remember to pray for those that are sick! =D
